Yandi W6 Services Relocation

PROJECT OWNER: BHP

PROJECT DURATION: SEPTEMBER 2017 - JANUARY 2018

Project Info:

Powerlines Plus was engaged with Austral Construction for the Yandi W6 Services Relocation Package on behalf of BHP at the Yandi mine site in WA. The package consisted of two existing overhead 33kV power lines requiring diversion from their existing location to make way for the installation of the new pit. The works included the supply and installation of two new overhead 33kV power lines, high voltage underground cables under existing roads and rail lines. Additionally, we were tasked with the coordinaton and outage planning for the commissioning of the new assets working closely with BHP.

These works required significant details to ensure the existing feeders were transferred to the new power lines without minimal disruption to BHP’s critical mining operations. Upon completion we were tasked with the demolition of the existing assets and site remediation works.
